Mission Statement

We will always strive to do what is best for the land, water and grass.  We realize that sustaining the environment is the key to our long-term success and our profitablity.  We must incorporate new ideas and new innovations.  As life changes, so must we.  We will have success and failures.  And though it may take years, we will find our success!

"...But as for me and my house,  we will serve the Lord."    .Ezekial 25

Duck  Creek Family Farm is a small family farm located in north Denton county in Texas. We are Grass Farmers!  We use a grass based rotational pasture system to raise our animals.  Basically, we try to let mother nature do all the work.

You won't find confinement houses here.  And they eat a poly-culture of legumes (plants that naturally add nitrogen to soil) based off of Joel Salatin's farm production model. We use rotational grazing to ensure fresh pastures.  Our animals actively forage for food (this keeps them lean).

We began our current farm in the summer of 2002.  Bob and Pamela own and operate the farm.  Pamela is a full time mother, homemaker, homeschool teacher and farmer.  Pamela Visited Joel Salatin's farm in the summer of 2000 and studied his farming techiques.  Bob works full time off the farm and is a part-time farmer.

Our philosopy is that first and foremost, we are grass farmers.  We realize that sustaining the land is key to our long term success.  Our mission is to raise clean, healthy, animals that are competively priced.  We want to be a safe alternative to factory farming.

Pamela purchased her first goat for Samantha in the spring of 2001.  We were hooked instantly.  Much safer than horses, for small children, we grew to love our goats.  We raise Registered Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats for show, for milk, 4H and FFA projects, and pets.  Duck Creek Family Farm goats are free of C.A.E. ,Brucellosis, and TB.
